This downloaded dataset includes two separate shapefiles. The first is as expected: the 2014 fine-scale vegetation map of the southern addition to the Knoxville Wildlife Area (WA), in Napa County. The second is a subset of the 2002 Napa County vegetation map that covers the full area of the Knoxville WA, both the pre-2014-existing, northern portion and the 2014-newly-added, southern portion. Distinctively from the 2002 Napa map as a whole, this subset of the 2002 Napa vegetation map is crosswalked to the classification of vegetation types created in 2014 for the southern portion of the Knoxville WA. Users may find the crosswalk file especially helpful in any endeavors concerning the pre-2014-existing northern portion of the WA, which was not mapped in 2014, but the crosswalk itself may also prove illuminating as an update to the older 2002 dataset, which was mapped at a coarser scale. One further note: currently as of February 2019, Napa County is being re-mapped and, once complete, a new map will render historical the 2002 Napa vegetation map (and any crosswalks to it such as this one).
